I love Rick Danko’s voice. He sounds like a guy that’s been forced to sing through all his years in The Band, The Hawks and whatever other constellations he’s been in. Point is — it’s paid off. His forced way of singing, especially on this track, brings something eXtra to the track - a poetic quality to a song called “Stagefright”.

One of the only spices/frills he puts on the song comes at 2:44-45, and to me, that one note makes the song for me.
